The Shippensburg University tennis team logged some extra miles on Saturday as it hit the road for a pair of PSAC Eastern Division matches, but the Raiders concluded their conference schedule with a pair of 9-0 losses at West Chester and Millersville.
 
Against the Golden Rams, junior Julia Saintz (Carlisle/Boiling Springs) had her career-long winning streak of six matches snapped at No. 2 singles but she did manage two points in the first set and three points in the second set. Saintz paired with sophomore Brittnee Buckley (Hamburg/Hamburg Area) to win a pair of games at No. 1 doubles.
 
At No. 3 singles, senior Daniela Delgado (York/York Suburban) dropped a 6-3, 6-2 decision to Cassidy Branigan. Delgado and junior Katie Shearer (Palmyra/Palmyra Area) teamed up for two points at No. 2 doubles, while Shearer dropped a 6-3, 6-1 decision at No. 4 singles.
 
After the West Chester match, SU hopped on the bus and drove west to Millersville for a match with the Marauders. Saintz again won five total points in a loss at No. 2 singles while Delgado also won five in a loss at No. 3 singles. Shearer dropped a 6-1, 6-3 decision at No. 4 singles.
 
The Raiders were valiant in a pair of tight losses in doubles, as the combination of Buckley and Saintz lost 9-7 at No. 1 doubles and the duo of Delgado and Shearer lost in a tiebreak at No. 2 doubles, 9-8 (7-1).
 
Shippensburg concludes its season Sunday with a 1:30 p.m. matchup against West Virginia Wesleyan being held at Fairmont State.
