The Shippensburg University volleyball team dropped a four-set match at PSAC East rival Kutztown on Saturday afternoon, winning the opening frame before losing the final three. Set scores were 25-14, 23-25, 17-25 and 19-25.

Shippensburg (15-15, 8-12 PSAC) swung .184 in the first set but committed 21 errors over the final three sets, while Kutztown (13-15, 7-13) overcame a zero hitting percentage in the opening frame with 14 kills in each of the final three frames.

Junior
Taylor Gottshall was the only Raider with double-digit kills on the day, totaling 12 while hitting .308. She added six digs and five blocks to her day.

Annie Goerl led the team with 20 digs, while juniors
Casey Hawbaker and
Laura Plank each had 16 digs.

Maura Nolan had 32 assists with four kills. Junior
Faith Athey and freshman
Courtney Malott both contributed eight kills.

With two conference games remaining, the Raiders are clinging to the third spot in the Eastern Division standings. SU is tied with West Chester for third place but holds the tiebreaker. However, Kutztown and Millersville are just one game behind both teams. KU holds the tiebreaker over the Raiders.

SU begins the final week of the regular season on Tuesday when it hosts Point Park at 7 p.m. in a non-conference contest from Heiges Field House.
