The Shippensburg University women's soccer team was defeated on Wednesday evening in a PSAC clash at Millersville, dropping a 1-0 decision to the Marauders at Pucillo Field.
Shippensburg (3-4-3, 3-4-3 PSAC) posted a 15-12 advantage in shots and a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks but could not get the ball past MU keeper Olivia Webber, who made seven saves.
Millersville (6-4, 6-4) scored in the 58th minute, as Meagan Newmister took a through ball from Taylor Sprenkle and sent the ball into the top corner of the goal.
Freshman
Kayla Kennedy was staunch in goal, making four saves.
The Raiders have not allowed more than one goal in each of their last nine games, but the team has posted a 3-3-3 record during the run, and all three of the losses have been by a 1-0 margin.
Shippensburg is off this weekend and returns to action at 4 p.m. Tuesday versus West Chester.
