Shippensburg University Athletics

2014 (Junior): Started all 17 games for the Raiders, one of just three players to do so, in her second season at Shippensburg…solidified the back lines working as a starting defender…totaled 14 shots on the year, including six on goal…contributed to a team defense that set a school record in allowing just 14 goals in 17 games, including just nine goals in the final 16 games.
 
2013 (Sophomore): Worked as a starting defender in her debut season with the Raiders, making an immediate impact…was one of nine players to appear in all 21 games…made starts in 20 of 21 contests…made regular contributions to a defense that allowed on average less than one goal per game…scored two goals during the season…recorded game-winning goal against Holy Family, SU’s first goal of the season…added a tally against UPJ…totaled six shots on goal.
 
2012 (Freshman): Played in 12 games for the Red Flash of Saint Francis…made early-season starts against Bucknell, Niagara and Buffalo…scored a game-winning goal in a comeback win over Buffalo on her only shot on goal of the year.
 
Selinsgrove Area High School: Totaled four varsity letters with the Seals under coach Matt Metzger…earned All-State honors as a senior…named the Daily Item District 4 Player Of the Year after a 15-goal, 20-assist senior season…honored as a four-time Heartland Athletic Conference and Daily Item First Team All Star…helped guide team to PIAA quarterfinals as a senior team captain…graduated on the distinguished honor roll…played for club team North Union United and coach Jason Duke…also played basketball, swam and competed in track & field.
 
About Brancato: Full name is Brianna Dawn Brancato…is the daughter of Christopher (M.D.) and Orlagh Brancato…majoring in biology, concentrating in pre-med…has two siblings, Kerrie and Tara…Kerrie is a 2011 graduate of Shippensburg.
