Football Travels to Millersville For 4 PM Saturday Matchup With the Marauders

SU has won 10 consecutive meetings with Millersville dating back to 2001

The Shippensburg University football team travels to Millersville this weekend for a 4 p.m. matchup at the Biemesderfer.

Live coverage of the game will be available through Shippensburg University radio, Millersville video stream (fee to watch) and live statistics feeds. All links are posted above.

The Red Raiders, picked No. 4 in the PSAC Eastern Division Preseason Coaches' Poll, went 7-4 last season but will need to win their last three games to reach that mark this season. SU is looking to replicate its 2011 season, Maciejewski's first at SU, in which the team won its last four games to finish with a 7-4 record.

The Marauders, picked seventh in the PSAC Eastern Division Preseason Coaches' Poll, have lost 18 of their last 19 games, including all eight in 2014. Its only win in the last two seasons came last year over Cheyney.

Last Week
The Shippensburg University football team ran the ball 71 times on its Homecoming Saturday, its most in a single game in 33 years, and used a 390-yard rushing attack to outlast visiting Cheyney, 34-13, before a capacity crowd of more than 7,500 fans at SU Student Association Field at Seth Grove Stadium. Senior running back Blair Brooks was named Shippensburg VFW Offensive Game MVP after carrying the ball a career-high 21 times for 160 yards and a touchdown.

Millersville football rallied from a 10-point deficit to tie its game at Lock Haven late in the fourth quarter. The homestanding Bald Eagles, however, responded immediately with a touchdown drive and then held off Millersville for a 17-10 win. Millersville out-gained Lock Haven 321-274 and totaled 22 first downs to Lock Haven's 14.  Backup QB J.J. Paige led Millersville with 64 yards rushing on 19 carries. He went 15-of-30 for 199 yards through the air.

Series History
The Red Raiders lead the overall series 41-23-2. SU has won the last 10 meetings in the series and have not lost to the Marauders since 2000. The regional rivals have faced each other 18 times over the last 25 years but the first divisional entry in the series came in 2008.

The two teams first met in 1916 with Shippensburg earning a 15-0 home victory. SU has out-scored Millersville 231-50 over the last five meetings between the two squads.

Shippensburg has defeated Millersville 88-10 in its last two meetings at the Biemesderfer, including a rare October snowstorm on the Marauders' Homecoming in 2011. SU held the hosts to minus-7 yards of total offense until its final drive, and that is the only game in which Trevor Harman had just one catch in a game in his career.
