SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University volleyball team dispatched PSAC East opponent Cheyney on Saturday afternoon from Heiges Field House by set scores of 25-11, 25-16 and 25-18.
Freshman
Maria Peluso led the Raiders (10-6, 3-3 PSAC) with career highs of 12 kills and a .455 hitting percentage (22 total attempts) to go along with 15 digs for her first career double-double.
Sophomore
Faith Athey and freshmen
Abby Mummert and
Rebecca Pryor each had eight kills apiece.
Athey hit a game-high .667 to go with three total blocks while Pryor achieved her most career kills while hitting .312 on the afternoon in addition to four service aces.
Mummert's kills and 11 digs were also career highs. Freshmen
Gabbie Holt and
Annie Goerl each added six kills while adding 11 and 9 digs, respectively.
Shippensburg returns to action on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. divisional battle at Millersville.
