Biography
2013 (Freshman): Mummert became a regular member of the SU rotation in her debut season with the team, appearing in 36 of 39 matches. She totaled 50 kills for the season, including a career-high 10 at Kutztown, eight versus Cheyney and five against both California and Chowan. Overall, Mummert delivered at least one kill in 15 matches. Off the bench against ESU, Mummert added four kills in one set and a single-season best hitting efficiency of .375. Defensively, Mummert had 58 digs, including 11 against Cheyney. Mummert showcased a strong serve and was often rotated in to utilize her hitting. She provided 26 aces, including a career high of four versus Shepherd and three against Catawba and Kutztown. Mummert had multiple aces in seven matches.

Central Bucks South High School: Mummert earned four varsity letters for the Titans under coach Ulana Keer. She began on the varsity squad as a middle hitter before transitioning to the outside and earned All-State ‘AAA’ honors in Pennsylvania as a senior. For her career she tallied over 1,000 kills, 325 aces and 210 blocks. She received All-SOL District honors as a junior and senior and was a four-time All-Continental Conference selection who earned MVP honors as a senior. Additionally, she was chosen for the Coaches Award as a junior and was tabbed as her team’s Offensive Player of the Year as a sophomore and Rookie of the Year as a freshman. She played at the club level with the Philadelphia Volleyball Academy (PVA) under Josh Steinbach and also played basketball. Academically, she was an honor roll student.
Personal: Abby Elizabeth Mummert is the daughter of Mark and Tammie Mummert. She is majoring in marketing. Mummert has two siblings: Nicole and Jack. Nicole studies at Arizona State. Her family members include former SU volleyball player Heather Heist (1987-91) and SU field hockey players Sam and Cassie Langone.
