SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Senior Dane Lauber poured in a career-high 25 points as the Shippensburg University men's basketball team's five seniors scored 68 of the team's 77 points in a Senior Day loss to playoff-bound Kutztown, 90-77, on Saturday afternoon from Heiges Field House.

The Raiders finished the season with a 10-18 (7-15 PSAC) record and honored its five seniors – Lauber, Jordan Stasyszyn, Craig Van Scyoc, Will Royal and John Corrigan during a pregame ceremony.

Shippensburg shot 54 percent from the field for the game, including a 10-of-17 (59 percent) effort from three-point range. Kutztown (17-8, 14-7 PSAC) matched SU's offensive proficiency, however, as the Golden Bears shot 53 percent from the field and 9-of-15 (60 percent) from three.

Lauber led all scorers and went 9-of-15 from the field – including a season-best effort from three-point range by making 4-of-5 from distance – while posting a team-high four assists. Royal shot 5-of-10 to finish with 13 points and five rebounds, while Stasyszyn contributed 12 points on 3-of-6 shooting.

Corrigan matched his season-high with 11 points in his first career start while matching a season-high 29 minutes of action. Corrigan sank 3-of-4 from three-point range, in addition to grabbing two rebounds. Van Scyoc had a team-high 10 rebounds to go along with seven points on 3-of-7 shooting.

Shippensburg came out of the gates hot, grabbing a 15-4 lead five minutes into the contest with three-pointers from Van Scyoc, Lauber and Corrigan. The Raiders made eight of their first nine shot attempts to start the game.

A layup by freshman Sam Pygatt gave SU a 35-27 lead with 6:25 left, but Kutztown embarked on an 11-0 run over the next four minutes to grab its first lead of the game, up 38-35, with 2:10 left.

Corrigan tipped in a Van Scyoc miss with 36 seconds remaining before Kutztown's Nate Edwards sank a three-pointer just before the buzzer to give the Golden Bears a 41-37 lead at the break.

The Raiders twice got to within one point in the first seven minutes of the second half, but Kutztown answered nearly every Shippensburg bucket with one of its own. After SU pulled to within two, down 63-61, the Golden Bears jumped back out by eight over the next three minutes, up 75-67, with just under six minutes remaining.

A Royal layup at the 4:27 mark again brought the Raiders within striking distance, down 75-71. Kutztown ended any hopes for an SU comeback with a subsequent 13-2 run and a double-digit, 88-73 lead with just over a minute to play.
