Biography

2010-11 (R-Junior): Continued his stellar play with the Raiders by leading the team in scoring with 12.7 points per game…started all 18 games he played in and averaged 27.2 minutes per game…shot 52.1 percent from the field…pulled in 7.3 rebounds per game…scored a career-high 27 points in an 87-84 win at Kutztown on Feb. 6…corralled a career-high 15 rebounds in a 72-47 win at Lock Haven on Jan. 4…led the team in scoring in eight games…tallied 17 assists and four steals…tallied six double-doubles for the year.

2009-10 (R-Sophomore): Made an immediate impact in his first season with the Red Raiders after transferring from Division I Robert Morris…led the team in scoring and rebounding…averaged 11.1 points and 6.9 rebounds per game…finished second on the team with nine blocks…played in 19 games and made nine starts…thrived in the second half of the season…saw 24.4 minutes per game…shot 53.4 percent from the field…posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, which were both team game highs, on the road against Mercyhurst…recorded a double-double with a season-high 17 points and 14 rebounds in an 87-83 win over nationally-ranked Kutztown…played a season-high 34 minutes on two occasions…had five double-doubles on the year…posted double figures in 14 of his 19 contests, including his first six games with Shippensburg.

2008-09 (Sophomore): Played at Division I Robert Morris University…competed in four games and a total of 19 minutes for the Colonials…totaled four points and six rebounds in limited action.

2007-08 (Freshman): Played at Division I Robert Morris University…appeared in 10 games before suffering a season-ending knee injury…played a total of 39 minutes…in collegiate debut hit his only shot from the field and grabbed a rebound in a 72-66 win over Iona…totaled a career-high 12 minutes and scored two points, grabbed two boards and posted a block against Drexel in The Philly Hoop Group Classic…scored  two points, grabbed a career-high three rebounds and added two assists in nine minutes of work in a 72-53 win over Howard.

Harmony Community Prep School: Averaged 17.3 points and 9.4 rebounds under head coach Rodney Crawford…helped the Canes to an overall record of 40-4 and the Prep School National Championship in Washington, D.C.

Harrisburg High School: Earned three varsity letters while playing for head coach Kirk Smallwood at Harrisburg High School…averaged 15.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, and two assists per game for his career…named to All-State first team his senior year...named to the “Big 15” honors his senior year.

Personal: Full name is William H. Royal…is the son of the late William H. Royal, Jr. and the late Denise E. Royster…majoring in criminal justice.
