JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – Senior
Nate Reese was one of three victors for the Shippensburg University wrestling squad on Wednesday night from Sports Center, but his fifth pin of the season was not enough in a 31-12 dual meet decision to No. 6 Pittsburgh-Johnstown.
Shippensburg earned a victory in the opening bout at 125 pounds, where junior
Chris Kochinsky picked up a 7-2 decision over David Fogle. Kochinsky earned a reversal in the first period, notched a second reversal during the second period after starting on the bottom and clinched the win with a takedown in the final frame. Kochinsky has won nine of his last 10 bouts and is now 15-7 overall this season.
Reese earned his second pin in a week by capitalizing on a move in the final minute of his match. Trailing 6-4, Reese achieved a pin with 52 seconds left to improve his record to 10-11 overall.
Sophomore
Keith Dahlheimer picked up his fourth win out of his last five bouts with a 4-2 decision at 197 pounds. Dahlheimer rode the strength of a first-period takedown to even his record at 10-10 for the season.
On Friday, Shippensburg will have its Senior Night and conclude the regular season against Kutztown from Heiges Field House. The dual meet is set to begin at 7 p.m.
