SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University wrestling squad won seven of the 10 contested matches on Friday night from Heiges Field House to achieve an impressive 28-9 dual meet victory over Anderson (S.C.), a squad ranked No. 7 in the latest regional poll.
After a 2-0 decision at 125 pounds by junior

Wes Heavener set the tone of the night for the Raiders with a victory by fall in 5:17. Boasting a 4-1 lead entering the third period of his match, Heavener scored a takedown just nine seconds after the whistle and had his pin just eight seconds later. He is now 5-1 with the Raiders and has scored bonus points in three matches.
Sophomore
Dan Estricher once again impressed at heavyweight and closed the match with a pin of his own. It took Estricher just 82 seconds to achieve his third victory by fall this season and his fifth consecutive victory overall. Estricher is now 19-8 after Friday's pin and a 7-3 decision last night against Delaware Valley.
Sophomore
Simon Rice wrestled well at 141 pounds and recorded a 7-1 decision. Rice had a first-period takedown and picked two more in the second period after starting the frame at neutral. Redshirt freshman John Linquist pitched a shutout at 157 pounds, getting a first-period takedown and reversing his opponent early in the third period for a 5-0 decision.
A takedown with just 16 seconds remaining in the 184-pound match led to junior
Tyler Zittle picking up a 3-2 decision. Zittle allowed his opponent to escape with five seconds remaining to preserve seventh victory at 184 this season and his 17th overall.
Sophomore
Keith Dahlheimer was the third Raider to score bonus points on Friday night, picking up a 10-1 major decision at 197 pounds. Dahlheimer had a takedown and a three-point near fall in the first period that set the tone for his match.
On Wednesday, Shippensburg will travel to Sports Center to face UPJ at 7 p.m. The Mountain Cats are ranked No. 6 in Division II.
