SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Senior Jordan Stasyszyn scored a career-high 26 points on Tuesday night to lead four Raiders in double figures as the Shippensburg University men's basketball team surpassed the 100-point barrier for the first time in nearly five years and defeated Central Penn, 104-87, from Heiges Field House.

Shippensburg (1-4) snapped its losing skid by scoring its most points in one game since totaling 108 in a home victory over Slippery Rock on Feb. 25, 1995. The last time the Raiders hit the 100-point plateau was on Dec. 7, 2006, when they scored 103 in a win over Ohio Valley. The Raiders had a field goal percentage of 61.4 percent, the highest in a game since they shot 62.8 percent in a win over Millersville on Feb. 11, 2009.

SU led by just four points at halftime, 48-44, before breaking out with an 18-4 run early in the second half to take control. The Raiders shot the lights out from distance, hitting 10-of-14 from three-point range in the contest, in addition to shooting 77 percent from the free-throw line.

Stasyszyn's 26-point night was the most for a Raider this season, as the senior went 9-of-11 from the floor and made all six of his three-point attempts. It is the third 20-plus point game of his career. In two career contests against Central Penn, Stasyszyn has totaled 46 points, shooting 10-of-13 from three-point range.

Freshman Reggie Charles had a sensational second half, posting 19 of his career-high 22 points in the final frame. Charles added nine assists and shot 9-of-10 from the free-throw line in the contest. In his last three games, Charles has totaled 40 points, 15 assists and five steals.

Senior Will Royal scored a season-high 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting and made 7-of-8 from the free-throw line. It is the third time in Royal's career that he has totaled 20 more points in a game. Sophomore Dylan Edgar (Shiremanstown/Mechanicsburg) was limited to just 15 minutes of playing time because of foul trouble but still managed 10 points and five rebounds.

Senior Craig Van Scyoc made both of his field-goal attempts on Tuesday – cashing in on two three-pointers, while grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out two assists. Senior Dane Lauber contributed three points, four rebounds and three assists off the bench while senior John Corrigan chipped in with nine points and six boards.

SU returns to action on Sunday from Heiges Field House with a 3 p.m. matchup against Shepherd.
