SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's swimming team won five individual events on Friday afternoon from Donald N. Miller Pool as the Lady Raiders celebrated Senior Day on the final home meet of the season. Edinboro earned a 108-97 victory in the dual meet.
Senior
Amy Fisher continued her success in distance events by handily winning the 1,000-yard freestyle with a NCAA 'B' cut time of 10:40.39. She also won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:19.22.
Three juniors also came away with victories.
Kristen McCandless edged Edinboro's Katie Kelly to win the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:00.40. Junior
Nicole Capozzi took the win in the 100-yard freestyle (55.96) and junior
Rachael Ballard won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:19.49.

Julie Brown just missed a victory in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:53.32.
However, Brown anchored the winning 200-yard freestyle relay squad that featured freshman
Kaitlyn Shelly, Capozzi and sophomore
Julia Brownrigg. The quartet posted a time of 1:41.83.
Shippensburg will swim at Drexel on Saturday, January 22.
