KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Shippensburg University wrestling team squared off with its second nationally ranked opponent this week in No. 18 Kutztown and found itself on the wrong side of a 30-4 score Friday night from Keystone Hall.

Chris Barrick picked up Shippensburg's only victory of the night at 174 pounds. Barrick, regionally ranked No. 3 at the 174 pound weight class, was victorious against Kutztown's Eric Sergent. Friday's win extends Barrick's win streak to eight bouts.
Competing in their final regular season dual matches Friday were seniors
Bill Purvis and
Jon Hade. Purvis dropped an close 8-5 decision at 157 pounds to Kutztown's Brett Martinez. Martinez was ranked sixth regionally at 149 pounds in the most recent poll.
At 184 pounds, Hade held his ground against Kutztown's Tim Darling. Darling is currently ranked sixth in the nation and holds the top spot in the regional rankings.
Shippensburg (6-8) will practice this week in advance of the 2010 NCAA Division II Super Region I Wrestling Tournament next weekend hosted by the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown.
