Beth Long tied the school record for career saves.
Shippensburg (6-9-3, 3-6-3 PSAC East) received another stellar performance from Long, who was one of seven players competing in their final game for the Lady Raiders. Long totaled nine saves, including three in overtime, to finish her career alongside Meredith Yakscoe-Markle '06 with 493 total saves while establishing a new school record for career shutouts (24.5) and a save percentage of .830.
The Lady Raiders dominated the territorial edge for a majority of the contest but the Marauders stayed in the game behind equally stellar goalkeeping from Taylor Suskie. Senior
Gayle Kuntzmann was thwarted at point-blank range on two separate occasions while Suskie finished with 11 saves in the contest.
Millersville (7-11-1, 4-7-1 PSAC East) began to turn the tide late in regulation with several scoring opportunities and unleashed a barrage toward Long in the overtime period. The Marauders fired several shots during the extra frame, including one in which Long dove and punched over the crossbar. The decisive tally came off an odd-man situation, as Alison Silva headed home a perfect cross from Sarah Cameron.
Kuntzmann finished her career second in school history for career goals with and is the only player over the last four years to appear in all 78 of the Shippensburg's games. During her tenure, Gayle compiled 46 career goals and 18 assists for 110 career points and made 66 starts. She was an All-PSAC First teamer last year, a second-team selection in '07 and the PSAC East Rookie of the Year in 2006.
Emily Burger was an integral back for the Lady Raider soccer team over the course of her career, playing in 59 total games dating back to the 2006 season. She was one of just four players last season to start in all 20 of the team's games and has made 29 starts over the course of her career.
Lauren Estrain appeared in 73 career games during her tenure, including 14 this season. During her freshman and sophomore seasons, Lauren appeared in all 20 of the team's games. Overall, she has made 21 starts, while scoring one goal and collecting six assists.
Rachael Jeffrey was a valuable forward for Shippensburg during her career and this season scored twice while appearing in 16 games. Overall, Rachael scored 12 goals in her career to go along with eight assists for a total of 32 points. She appeared in 76 career games and made 39 starts.
Katelyn O'Brien made her biggest impact as a senior, appearing in all 18 games as a defender while making 17 starts for Shippensburg. Over the course of her career, O'Brien played in 61 games, making 18 starts. She was an integral back for SU and appeared in at least 11 games each season.
Brittany Oncay was one of the most valuable defenders in recent memory for Shippensburg, helping solidify the back line for Long and the rest of the team. A two-time All-PSAC Second team selection, Oncay appeared in 77 games during her career and made 76 starts. Last season she recorded an assist for her first career point.
