Shippensburg (4-6, 3-4 PSAC East) exploded for 555 yards of total offense, a sum that included 345 rushing yards. The team averaged 7.7 yards per rush on 45 attempts, and four different backs averaged at least eight yards per carry.
Red-shirt freshman
Roshaan McCain paced the Red Raider ground attack, gaining a career-high 137 yards on 16 carries with two touchdowns. It was the most yards for a Shippensburg running back since
Aaron Dykes '08 ran for 139 yards against Clarion on Oct. 22, 2005.
The Red Raiders also scored five touchdowns through the air. Red-shirt junior
Chad DiFebbo finished the game completing 12-of-17 passes for 186 yards with a career-high four touchdown passes.
Cheyney (0-10, 0-7 PSAC East) began with a three-and-out to start the game, and the Red Raider offense immediately found the end zone on its first possession following a 6-play, 59-yard drive that was capped off a 17-yard touchdown pass to red-shirt sophomore
Chase DiFebbo.
Following another stalled drive by the Wolves, the Red Raiders embarked on their second touchdown drive. DiFebbo capped off a 6-play, 51-yard drive with 10-yard pass to red-shirt junior
Nick Klinepeter, who recorded his first collegiate touchdown.
The aerial display continued in the second quarter as DiFebbo hooked up with red-shirt junior
Mike Harris for a 53-yard touchdown pass. Harris caught the ball about 25 yards down the field and broke several tackles on the play to record the score.
Harris finished the afternoon with five catches for 91 yards and a touchdown. The red-shirt junior receiver has at least five receptions in his last seven games and has totaled 59 this season for 907 yards and nine touchdowns. He is currently fifth in school history for receiving yards in a season and needs 52 yards in the final game to move into third place among career ranks.
For the second time in the game, the DiFebbo brothers would connect for a score. In the final seconds of the first half, Chad found Chase in the back of the end zone for a 15-yard touchdown that gave the Red Raiders a 27-0 lead at the intermission. Chase finished the afternoon with four catches for 73 yards and two touchdowns.
Chad DiFebbo would give way to red-shirt freshman
Dave Chervansky midway through the third quarter. Chervansky would throw his first career touchdown pass as he hit red-shirt sophomore
Jake Biondi for a 24-yard score in the third quarter.
The Red Raider defense had a stellar afternoon, limiting Cheyney to just 170 yards of total offense. Red-shirt senior
Jason Stone led all defenders with eight tackles, including two for loss.
Shippensburg recorded three sacks on the afternoon and red-shirt sophomore
Jeff Fertig intercepted a Cheyney pass attempt. Red-shirt junior
Josh Simmons also scooped up a Cheyney fumble and raced 48 yards down the field for a touchdown.
The Red Raiders will conclude the 2008 season with a road contest next Saturday. By virtue of West Chester's defeat of Bloomsburg, Shippensburg will travel to Mercyhurst for a 3 p.m. contest.

Kyler Ford only had to make two punts in the game and both were downed inside the 10-yard line... Saturday's game will be the first career meeting between Shippensburg and Mercyhurst.
