Harris, through three seasons, has already established himself as one of the best wide receivers in school history with 135 receptions, 1,982 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns. As a senior captain in 2009, Harris will be one of the most visible leaders on an offense that has the capability to produce significant points this season. Voted by his peers last season as the team’s most valuable player, Harris enters this season already ranked fourth in school history for career receptions and receiving yards and will be one of the most feared pass catchers in the PSAC.
2008 (R-Junior): Topped his own production of the previous season with the third-best season for a wide receiver in school history…became just the second player in SU history to total over 1,000-yards in a season with 66 receptions for 1,014 yards and 10 touchdowns…ranked second in the PSAC in both categories while finishing 21st in Division II for receiving yards…averaged 92 receiving yards per game…earned All-PSAC Eastern Division First Team honors…named to Daktronics All-Super Region One Second Team Offense and Don Hansen’s All-Super Region One Second Team Offense…recorded at least three receptions and 39 receiving yards in every game…had at least one touchdown in eight games…posted 100 or more receiving yards in five games…tallied a season-high 172 receiving yards on seven catches with two touchdowns at Kutztown…opened the season with eight receptions for 117 yards and a touchdown against Shepherd…hauled in 10 passes for 121 yards and a touchdown against Millersville…went for 107 receiving yards and a touchdown on seven receptions in the season finale at Mercyhurst…served as the team’s primary punt returner with 27 runbacks for a total of 172 yards…concluded the season with 1,186 all-purpose yards, ranking second on the team.
2007 (R-Sophomore): Posted the most prolific season for a wide receiver in eight years, earning All-PSAC Western Division First Team honors for his efforts… hauled in 57 passes for 779 yards…ranked third in the conference in receptions and fourth in yardage… topped 100 yards receiving in three games last season, including a season-high 130 yards on nine receptions at IUP on November 3… caught five passes for 102 yards against Slippery Rock on October 20 and brought in seven passes for 114 yards and a touchdown against Slippery Rock on September 22… finished the year with a team-best four receiving touchdowns, also scoring against Liberty, Clarion and Lock Haven… made at least two receptions in every game during the season… returned six punts for a total of 40 yards…totaled at least 27 all-purpose yards in each game last season, ranking second on the team with 819… reeled in a season-long reception of 51 yards… started all 11 games for the Red Raiders.
2006 (Sophomore): Redshirted due to injury.
2005 (Freshman): Appeared in 10 of the team’s 11 games…finished fourth on the team with 12 receptions…totaled 189 receiving yards and averaged 15.8 yards per catch…had a season-long 26-yard reception against California (Pa.) on October 15…recorded his lone touchdown of the season, a 29-yard pass from Rick Henshaw in the third quarter of a 37-0 victory over Clarion on October 22…totaled a season-high three receptions in the season opener against Kutztown and at Bloomsburg on September 10…also had a season-high 43 yards versus Bloomsburg.
Garden Spot High School: Three-year letterman…played for head coach Eric Spencer…team captain as a senior…graduated as the school’s career receiving yardage leader…named to the Lancaster Lebanon League all-star team twice…also selected to the Tri-County All-Star Team as a senior…helped lead his team to a Lancaster Lebanon League Section 2 championship in 2004…also lettered three years in track and field and two years in boy’s volleyball…set the school record in the javelin with a mark of 181’ 5"… named outstanding male athlete of the senior class…team captain in track and field as a senior.
