Biography
2009-10 (Sophomore): Transferred to Shippensburg and debuted as a Red Raider…placed seventh in the mile freestyle at the PSAC meet (16:40.64) and 11th in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:06.92)…achieved a new personal best in the 500-yard freestyle (4:48.71)…competed at least once in every freestyle flight during the season in addition to breaststroke and individual medley events.
2008-09 (Freshman): Attended Kutztown University and competed for the swim team…received the Kutztown Coaches Award…performances ranked him among the school’s all-time Top 10 in three events: 500-yard freestyle (9th; 4:50.04), 1,000-yard freestyle (2nd; 9:48.87) and the mile freestyle (3rd; 16:37.71)…placed ninth at the PSAC championships in the mile.
Emmaus High School: Earned three letters for the Hornets while competing for head coach Tim O’Connor…won the Tommy Gray Sportsmanship and Perseverance Award during his junior and senior years of high school.
Personal: Full name is Joseph Richard Lahovski…is the son of Tom and Nancy Lahovski… majoring in exercise science while seeking a minor in coaching…has four siblings: Catherine, Christine, Johnny and Carly.
