2011-12 (Junior): Won the PSAC championship in the 400 IM (4:07.50), SU’s first individual title in three years, as part of a banner conference meet for the third-year Raider…achieved his first All-PSAC performance with the win and ranks fourth in school history for the event…also placed fourth in the 200 IM and eighth in the 200 breaststroke…his effort in the 200 IM (1:54.32) ranks second in school history, just 0.12 seconds off the school record…contributed to solid performances in the 200 medley relay and the 400 free relay at the conference championships…served as the team’s pacesetter in both breaststroke and IM events.
2010-11 (Sophomore): Became the first SU swimmer in 18 years to set a new school record after posting a 200-yard breaststroke time of 2:06.08 at the Patriot Invitational in November…also won the 100-yard breaststroke at the Patriot Invitational with a season PR of 57.67 seconds that is the third-fastest time in school history…scored in both events at the PSAC Championships…placed fifth in the 200-yard breaststroke and 10th in the 100-yard breaststroke…achieved a PR of 1:55.87 in the 200-yard IM at the Patriot Invitational that slotted as SU’s second-fastest time of the season…posted SU’s third-fastest time of the season in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 52.81 seconds at the Zippy Invitational.
2009-10 (Freshman): Impressed in his debut season for the Red Raider swim team…placed eighth in both the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events at the PSAC Championships…recorded an 11th-place finish in the 200-yard IM at the PSAC meet…posted the fastest 200-yard breaststroke time of the season (2:10.61) at the Patriot Invitational, where he also achieved his personal best in the 100-yard flight… was the team’s second-leading 200-yard IM swimmer after a strong effort at the Zippy Invitational…also ranked among the team’s leading 100-yard backstroke swimmers…competed in occasional freestyle flights.
Garnet Valley High School: Earned four letters under head coach Clark Bickling at Garnet Valley…set school records in the 200 medley relay, the 400 freestyle relay, the 100 meter breaststroke and the 100-yard breaststroke…named a 2009 All-Delco First Team All Star by the Delaware County Times…competed for the Suburban Seahawks club team.
Personal: Full name is Sean Joseph Minford…is the son of Bill and Beth Minford…majoring in accounting…has a brother, Tyler, who is a teammate.
