2012-13 (Junior): Continued his role as a valuable butterfly swimmer for the Raiders in his third season, reaching the PSAC finals of the 200 butterfly and placing in both the 100 and 200 butterfly at the conference meet…established personal bests in both butterfly events at the PSAC Championships…also swam the mile at the conference championships…posted SU’s second-fastest times of the season in the 200 butterfly and the mile.
2011-12 (Sophomore): Posted three individual place-winning performances at the conference championships, including a victory in the consolation final of the 200 butterfly…placed 12th in the 100 butterfly and 13th in the mile…was the team’s pacesetter in the 200 butterfly and had the team’s second-fastest season time (and a new PR) in the 100 butterfly…contributed to a seventh-place finish effort in the 800 freestyle relay at the conference championships.
2010-11 (Freshman): Ranked among the team’s top swimmers in the 500 and 1,650-yard freestyle events in addition to both butterfly events with the Raiders…placed 12th in the 200-yard butterfly and the 1,650-yard freestyle at the PSAC Championships…achieved season PRs in the 200 and 500-yard freestyle at the Patriot Invitational.
Emmaus High School: Earned four varsity letters with the Hornets under head coach and SU swimming alum Tim O’Connor…posted high-school bests of 53.9 in the 100 fly, 51.1 in the 100 free and 2:08 in the 200 IM…won district titles as a junior and a senior…swam for the Emmaus Aquatic club team under coach John Larsen…graduated on the honor roll…also competed in track and field.
Personal: Full name is Joseph Gerard Borgioni…is the son of Joseph and Barbara Borgioni…majoring in geoenvironmental studies and seeking a GIS certificate…has a brother, Michael.
