Biography

2010 (Freshman): Bivens appeared in 34 of the team’s 35 matches in her debut season, mostly working in the middle of the court. She totaled 127 digs during the season, including a season-high 18 in league matches against East Stroudsburg and Kutztown. In total, Bivens had five games with double-digit digs. Offensively, Bivens ripped 37 kills, including a season-high four against Fairmont State and West Chester. At the net, Bivens totaled 19 blocks. She also served eight aces.

Floyd E. Kellam High School:
Bivens was a four-year varsity letterwinner for the Knights under head coach Janice Johnson, thriving as a middle blocker and earning All-District honors in her final three seasons. In addition to her volleyball prowess, Bivens was an accomplished swimmer who earned All-District and All-Region honors for three consecutive seasons. She also competed for club team Coastal VA under head coach Dave Albaugh. Scholastically, Bivens was a four-year academic letterwinner.

Personal: Tessa Laine Bivens is the daughter of Michael and Sharon Bivens. She is majoring in biology. Bivens has one sibling: Skyler. Her father played basketball at Radford University.
