Biography

2010 (Junior): Woffindin had an exemplary season, earning All-PSAC Eastern Division Second Team honors for her play as a middle blocker and middle hitter for the Raiders. She set the Shippensburg University single-season record for block assists (118) and had 139 total blocks. Defensively, Woffindin had multiple blocks in 30 of team's 35 matches, finishing fourth in the PSAC and 34th in Division II for blocks per set. Woffindin hit over .300 in first month of season and finished with a .270 hitting percentage. She also ranked second on the team with 329 kills and hit .300 or better in 11 matches. Woffindin was a PSAC Player of the Week honoree who finished 10th in PSAC play for hitting percentage and served 45 aces this season. Her season-high of 20 kills came in a five-set match against East Stroudsburg that also featured 10 digs – it was her only double-double of the season. A season-high eight blocks came against Gannon and East Stroudsburg. Woffindin also had a season-high seven service aces against Gannon. In 12 matches, Woffindin hit .300 or better, including an incredible .640 in a road win at Millersville that featured 17 kills on 25 attempts with just one error.

2009 (Sophomore): In her second season with the team, Woffindin became one of Shippensburg’s most valuable all-around players while patrolling the middle block. She appeared in 34 of the team’s 35 matches, ranking third in total kills (216) and total blocks (64). Woffindin had multiple kills in every match and posted two double-doubles on the season, including a career-high 17-kill, 12-dig performance against Wheeling Jesuit. Earlier, Woffindin had a 12-kill, 12-dig effort against West Virginia State. On the block, she had 21 solo blocks (three in one game against Slippery Rock) and 43 block assists. Her total of 115 digs ranked her fifth on the squad. She also added 18 service aces.

2008 (Freshman): Woffindin recorded a solid debut season for the Lady Raiders while primarily functioning as a middle blocker. She appeared in 35 of the team’s 38 matches while competing in 114 sets. Her 136 kills ranked her sixth on the team, while her 43 block assists ranked fourth. Woffindin made strides as the season wore on and ultimately compiled a .116 hitting percentage and 29 digs. She recorded a career-high 11 kills to complement a .714 hitting percentage against Cheyney on October 21. On four occasions, Woffindin reached double digits in kills, including 10 in a conference match at Millersville on September 2. Only once did Woffindin not record at least one kill in her appearances, and in 17 matches she recorded at least one dig. Her career-high of five block assists occurred on September 13 against C.W. Post. She also had four block assists in a five-set match at Kutztown on November 1 while on five occasions she recorded three block assists.

William Allen High School:
Woffindin was a three-time letterwinner while competing in the Lehigh Valley conference and being coached by her father, Phil Woffindin. She was a senior co-captain and a first team honorable mention choice in addition to honorable mention from the Lehigh Valley conference. She also competed for the Philadelphia Volleyball Academy under coach Josh Stienbach. In addition to volleyball, Woffindin competed on the softball team for three years.

Personal: Elizabeth Ashton Woffindin is the daughter of Phil and Jan Woffindin. She is majoring in elementary education while seeking a minor in coaching. Woffindin is one of four children, with younger brother Gabe and older sisters Abby and Kate, an assistant volleyball coach at Villanova who was a four-year starter at William & Mary.
