2021 – 200 Breast (14th)
2020-21 (Junior): Delivered his first scoring performance to cap off his third season as a Raider…placed 14th in the 200-yard breaststroke at the PSAC Championships…represented the Raiders in the 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard IM at the conference championships…ranked among the team’s Top 5 swimmers on the season in the 100-yard breaststroke.
2019-20 (Sophomore): Continued as a breaststroke and individual medley swimmer in his second season…ranked among the team’s Top 5 breaststroke swimmers…achieved his season bests in the 100-yard breaststroke at the Patriot Invitational and in the 200-yard IM at the Bomber Invitational…also competed in various freestyle events.
2018-19 (Freshman): Debuted as a breaststroke and individual medley swimmer in his first season…represented the Raiders in the 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard breaststroke and 200-yard IM at the PSAC Championships…finished among the team’s Top 5 swimmers in both breaststroke events for the season…also competed in the 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle and 1,000-yard freestyle over the course of the season.
Seneca Valley High School: Earned four varsity letters for the Raiders under head coach Brian Blackwell…competed at the club level with Seneca Valley Swim Club (SVSC) under Blackwell…qualified four years for the WPIAL Championships in the 100-yard breaststroke and three years for the WPIALs in the 200-yard IM…won a medal swimming the breaststroke leg of his school’s 200-yard medley relay…received All-State Honorable Mention with the 200-yard medley relay as a senior…was a four-year Scholar Athlete on the High Honor Roll. High School PRs: 1:00.29 in the 100-yard breaststroke, 2:02.59 in the 200-yard IM and 2:14.23 in the 200-yard breaststroke.
About Sawyer: Full name is Christian Robert Sawyer…is the son of Dan and Sally Sawyer…majoring in supply chain management…has a sister, Edie…is a cousin of the Wiechelts (Suzy ’09, swimming; Tom ’13, wrestling; Katie ’13, track & field) who are SU student-athlete alums.
