The Shippensburg University lacrosse team erased a five-goal deficit in the second half and Brynn Hauck netted the game-winning goal in overtime to complete a thrilling road comeback over Lock Haven in a nonconference matchup Wednesday afternoon at Charlotte E. Smith Field, 13-12.

Shippensburg (3-1) trailed Lock Haven (1-1) by a 9-4 margin at halftime before scoring five of  six over the course of the final 14:07 of regulation, with Maddie Phommachanh completing the comeback with a game-tying goal with 2:30 remaining, 12-12.

The Raiders were turned aside on a pair of possessions late in regulation, including a fantastic save by Lock Haven goalie Gretchen King to deny Alexa Bailey. Shippensburg goalie Izzy Sawicki also saved a dangerous free position shot attempt in the final seconds of regulation to force overtime.

Hauck netted her fifth goal of the contest three minutes into the extra session to give the Raiders the victory. Hauck also added an assist and a team-high five draw controls. Four of her goals came after halftime.

The Raiders outshot the Bald Eagles 42-to-21 overall in the game.

Phommachanh added a hat trick and two caused turnovers. Ali Pioli had a four-point afternoon (two goals, two assists) to go along with four draw controls, two groundballs and two caused turnovers.

Aubrey Bailey, Abby Schwartz-Mitchell and Shannon Wood also found the back of the net for Shippensburg.

Hanna Woolf posted a team best five groundballs, while Grace DeMarzio chipped in with four groundballs, four draw controls and two caused turnovers.

King was outstanding in the Bald Eagle goal, totaling 19 saves.

Sawicki (two saves) and Leah Cramer (two saves) split time in the SU net.

Gabby Gunnip scored five goals for Lock Haven offensively.
