SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's swimming team capped off a busy week of training Friday night with its second dual meet in a four-day span and posted a 142-38 victory over Fairmont State in action at Donald N. Miller Pool.
Shippensburg posted the fastest time in all but one of the contested events Friday as it faced a Fairmont State squad limited in personnel.
Ian Deck,
Mason Koeth and
Josh Einolf won multiple events on the day.
A total of eight swims on the night satisfied the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships qualifying standards. Among them were Koeth's wins in the 200-yard freestyle (1:45.62) and the 100-yard freestyle (47.23 seconds), Einolf's victory in the 100-yard butterfly (52.47 seconds) and
Ezekiel Eberly clocking in at 51.29 seconds in the 100-yard backstroke.
SU went 1-2-3 in the 50-yard freestyle and each swim was a PSAC cut.
Robbie Ferlick edged out
Kye Winslow by .09 seconds, swimming 22.23 seconds, while
Connor Ludwig took third in 22.45 seconds. Ludwig also achieved a PSAC cut in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing second to Koeth with a time of 48.90 seconds.
Deck finished the 500-yard freestyle in 5:08.92 and the 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:44.15.
