SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University senior
Garrett Quinan was recognized Wednesday afternoon as a recipient of a 2025-26 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Fall Top 10 Award.
Â
To be a candidate for the prestigious PSAC Top 10 Awards, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher and be a starter or key reserve with legitimate athletic credentials. A total of five men and five women are selected as award winners after each of the three competitive seasons (Fall, Winter, Spring).
Â
Quinan is a cross country runner and a mechanical engineering major. He has maintained a 3.628 cumulative GPA.
Â
This year's male Fall Top 10 honorees span the sports of cross country (Quinan, IUP runner Mike Formica), soccer (Gannon midfielder Sverre Orten) and football (Kutztown quarterback Judd Novak, Slippery Rock defensive back Michael Henwood).
Â
Quinan was the 2025 PSAC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Year, All-PSAC First Team and a United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Atlantic Region First Team honoree during a highly decorated senior campaign.
Â
He placed second overall at the 2025 PSAC Championships, third overall at the 2025 Atlantic Region Championships (the top PSAC runner in the field) and was four spots shy of All-America recognition at nationals (44th-place finish).
Â
Quinan helped SU to a 17th-place team finish at the 2025 NCAA Division II National Championships – its best performance in eight years – and he became just the second runner since 1990 to named PSAC Cross Country Athlete of the Year three times in a career.
Â
Quinan was previously named a Fall Top 10 honoree in the fall of 2023-24. He joins SU Field Hockey's Emma Albee on the 2025-26 Fall Top 10 list, becoming the first Raider duo to be honored in the same semester since indoor track and field athletes Josh Herbster and Leah Graybill were recognized with Winter Top 10 Awards in 2023-24.
Â
Shippensburg has totaled 83 all-time PSAC Top 10 awards – second only to Slippery Rock (92) for the most among conference schools.
