The Shippensburg University volleyball team dropped its first contest at the Bobcat Invitational, falling in five sets on Friday afternoon to Ohio Dominican, Set scores were 27-25, 22-25, 25-17, 14-25 and 8-15.

Shippensburg (3-2) took sets one and three before Ohio Dominican (3-2) claimed the victory winning the final two sets to end the match.
The Raiders finished the match with 53 kills, hitting .177 from the floor. The Panthers totaled 63 kills with a .196 hitting percentage. SU was out-blocked by Ohio Dominican 11-7, and the Panthers delivered ten aces to the Raiders' three.
Gracen Nutt led the SU offense with 14 kills and a .262 hitting percentage. Natalya Montague and Isabelle Bombas combined for 21 kills in the middle. Montague delivered 11 kills and hit .344 from the floor and added a solo block. Bombas totaled 10 kills, hitting a team high .421. She tacked on two solo blocks and three block assists. Â

Kearstin Davis dished out 46 assists and added 14 digs and an ace. Shay Kolivoski led the Raider defense with a match-high 27 digs.
The Raiders got on the board first in set five after two attack errors from the Panthers. Ohio Dominican responded with a 3-0 run to put them in the lead, 4-3. The Panthers increased their lead after another 3-0 run, 7-4. The Panthers ended the match with an 8-3 scoring stretch, 15-8.
Shippensburg will be back in action tomorrow at the Bobcat Invitational where it will take on Pitt-Johnstown at 11 a.m. and host Frostburg State at 4 p.m.
