The Shippensburg University field hockey team was voted third in the 2025 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll released Monday afternoon by the conference office.
 
The preseason coaches' poll is selected by the league's coaches and was announced through the league's social media channels. The conference does not allow coaches to vote for their own team in the preseason polls.
 
Kutztown, national finalists last season, received seven of the 10 first-place votes and is atop the poll. East Stroudsburg, national semifinalists last season, received two first-place votes and is second in the poll.
 
Shippensburg went 19-2 last season and won the PSAC Championship – its third in school history. The Raiders were defeated in the national semifinals by the Golden Bears.  
 
West Chester and Bloomsburg are directly behind the Raiders in the No. 4 and No. 5 spots respectively.
 
Shippensburg begins the 2025 season on Saturday, Sept. 6 when it faces Belmont Abbey in a match hosted by IUP. The first home game will be Friday, Sept. 12 versus Assumption.
