SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University head softball coach
Alison Van Scyoc has confirmed the recruitment of seven student-athletes who have each agreed to attend the university and will suit up for the Raider softball program for the 2026 season.
Â
The seven newcomers hail from five different states (Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York and Virginia). The class includes two pitchers and five position players.
Â
They will join a Raider team coming off a 2025 NCAA Division II Atlantic Region title and the program's third-ever trip to the NCAA Championships.
Â
"The 2025 recruiting class is a class I am highly looking forward to coaching," noted Van Scyoc. "The student-athletes in this class are all multi-positional players that bring a wealth of high-level defensive play to our program and are dynamic offensively as well. These young ladies bring a balanced mix of power, hard contact, and a high softball IQ. They have big shoes to fill, but I know they are ready for the challenge. I have no doubt they will rise up both in the classroom, on the field, and in the weight room. I am looking forward to building a relationship with each of them and watching them progress through their career."
