Men’s Soccer announces Matt Garrett as assistant coach

Garrett served as head coach of Gettysburg Women’s Soccer for 18 seasons

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University Athletics has announced Matt Garrett as an assistant men's soccer coach.
 
Garrett has been appointed to the role after serving as the head women's soccer coach at Gettysburg for the past 18 seasons.
 
Garrett was a decorated head coach for the Bullets, compiling a 158-104-44 overall record, including a 95-53-21 mark in Centennial Conference matches.
 
He guided Gettysburg to 12 consecutive winning seasons during his tenure and won at least 10 matches eight times. He led the Bullets to at-large berths in the NCAA Tournament in 2014 and 2019.
 
Garrett coached a total of 60 all-conference players, 15 all-region performers and two All-Americans while at Gettysburg.
 
Prior to Gettysburg, Garrett served as an assistant coach at Robert Morris and at Slippery Rock, where he was a four-year starter and team captain.
 
Garrett graduated from Slippery Rock in 2000 with a degree in sports management.
