SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's tennis team celebrated seniors
Brooklynn Rupert and
Kendall Winters on Saturday ahead of its final regular-season contest, as the Raiders dropped a 7-0 decision to Bloomsburg in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup at windy Robb Sports Complex.

Shippensburg (8-11, 1-5 PSAC East) was competitive throughout against Bloomsburg (13-2, 6-0), the Eastern Division champions. SU came close to the doubles point, as No. 2 and No. 3 both needed seven points to decide a victor.

At No. 2 doubles, Rupert and sophomore
Rachel Gallagher went to a tiebreaker, but came up just short as the Husky duo of Juliana Kim and Alyssa Mazurek won 7-6 (7-3).

At No. 3 doubles, Winters and sophomore
Ava Kalist had a hard-fought battle as well but fell 5-7 to Maddie Delisio and Lily Sierka.

Winters, in her final singles match, went the duration at No. 6 against Mazurek. After winning the first set 6-0, Winters dropped the second set, 2-6, to enter the tiebreaker. In what was a marathon of a tiebreaker, Mazurek narrowly edged Winters, 13-11.

Senior
Yasmin De Meyer won five games at No. 2 singles after teaming up with junior
Corinne Markovich to win two games at No. 1 doubles.

Sophomore
Brinley Orris won four games at No. 5 singles while freshman
Jade Miller won three games at No. 3 singles. Rupert competed at No. 4 singles.

Overall, Rupert competed in 56 singles and 64 doubles matches as a Raider, while Winters competed in 47 singles and 59 doubles matches for SU.
