The Shippensburg University lacrosse team won its fifth straight game Friday, downing Barton College in Wilson, North Carolina, 15-5.

Sara Vosburg finished with eight points. She scored four goals for the fourth time in the last five games and dished out four assists.

It is the first time SU has won five straight games in 21 years, dating back to April 2004.

DeMarzio also had a tremendous impact defensively, recording a team-high seven groundballs and five caused turnovers. Both those marks represent new career highs.

Hauck matched her career high with four groundballs, she also recorded a team-high six draw controls.

Barton (5-4) attacker Tamia Marshall totaled three goals. The Bulldogs saw their four-game winning streak snapped with the loss.

The Raiders scored six of the first seven goals in the contest, but back-to-back tallies from Marshall made it a 6-3 game late in the opening half.

Carvin scored a man-up goal to bring the margin back to four just before halftime, and the Raiders scored the first five out of the intermission to put the game away. Â

Kayla Vosburg was credited with seven saves. Freshman
Emily Huber tallied four saves in relief.

With its five victories, Shippensburg has already eclipsed their win total from last year just six games into the season. The five wins are also tied for SU's most since 2021.

Next up, Shippensburg heads to #3 West Chester Sunday for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) clash against the Golden Rams at 1 p.m.
