Volleyball earns four All-PSAC honorees; Kolivoski, Piscotty earn major awards

Kolivoski repeats as Eastern Division Defensive Athlete of the Year, Piscotty named Eastern Division Coach of the Year

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University volleyball team had four of its players selected to the 2025 All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Teams announced Thursday afternoon and two Raiders earned major awards: Shay Kolivoski (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) was named the Eastern Division Defensive Athlete of the Year and Leanne Piscotty was named the Eastern Division Coach of the Year.
 
Voting for the all-conference team is conducted by the league's head coaches.
 
Kolivoski, a libero, and setter Kearstin Davis were the two Raiders selected for the Eastern Division All-PSAC First Team.
 
Middle hitter Hailey Cappleman and outside hitter Gracen Nutt were named to the Eastern Division All-PSAC Second Team.
 
Kolivoski becomes the first Raider to repeat as the PSAC Defensive Athlete of the Year.
 
Piscotty earns her fifth Eastern Division PSAC Coach of the Year award, accompanying her previous recognitions in 2013, 2012, 2007 and 2004.
 
This is the fourth straight season that Davis has received All-PSAC honors; she earned First Team honors in 2024 and 2023 and was a Second Team selection in 2022.
 
Davis becomes just the fifth player in school history to become a four-time All-PSAC performer, joining setter Maura Nolan (2013-26), middle blocker Taylor Gottshall (2012-15), outside hitter Jill Edwards (2010-13) and outside hitter Missy Pierce (2003-06). She also joins Edwards as the only two Raiders to become three-time All-PSAC First Team selections (Edwards earned four First Team honors).  
 
Kolivoski, now a two-time honoree, was also named to the First Team in 2024. Nutt earns her second All-PSAC honor after being selected to the First Team in 2023. This is the first career All-PSAC classification for Cappleman.
 
Davis recorded 909 assists this season, ranking sixth in the conference, despite the team employing a 5-2 rotation at times. She ranks seventh in the league with 8.12 assists per set. Davis ranks second on the team in digs with 304, averaging 2.71 digs per set. Davis has produced 30 or more assists in 17 matches, including 40 or more assists in six matches and 50 or more in one match. She has recorded double-digit digs in 14 matches. Davis leads the team and ranks third in the league in aces, totaling a career-high 50.
 
Kolivoski ranks second in the PSAC and among the Top 11 in the nation with 567 digs. She is fourth in the league with 5.06 digs per set. Out of 444 receptions, Kolivoski has only committed 14 receiving errors (.968). She ranks third on the team in service aces with 41. Kolivoski has produced 10 or more digs in all 28 matches and 20 or more digs in 18 matches.
 
Nutt led the Raider offense this season with 289 kills, averaging 2.81 kills per set. Nutt contributed 20 aces as SU finished the regular season as the strongest serving team in the conference. On defense, she tallied 121 digs and added 16 total blocks. Throughout the season, she totaled 10 or more kills in 17 matches and recorded one double-double.
 
Cappleman has broken through this season as one of the top Raider attackers, ranking second on the team in kills (261) and kills per set (2.44). She has totaled 77 blocks (14 solo blocks, 57 block assists), which ranks second on the team. Throughout the season, she totaled 10 or more kills in 14 matches. Cappleman also ranks fourth on the team in aces with a career-high 24.
 
The Eastern Division's remaining major award winners are East Stroudsburg's Anna Coulter (Athlete of the Year) and Kutztown's Madilyn Bogovic (Freshman of the Year).
