SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's soccer team surrendered the go-ahead goal in the 80th minute in a 1-0 setback to Millersville Saturday afternoon in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division contest at David See Field.

Shippensburg (3-4-1, 0-2 PSAC East) and Millersville (4-3-2, 1-1) are no strangers to physical, defensive showdowns when they meet. The latest chapter was no different, but it was the Marauders who were able to provide the mandatory magic late to find a game-winner.

A backheel from Matias Schmidt on the edge of the box created an opening for teammate Kayden Sowell, who smashed a low, hard ball to the back post, where goalscorer Zander Leik was waiting to redirect it into the roof of the net.

SU goalkeeper Ryan Krumenacker (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) was outstanding in the Raider net, registering a season-high eight saves.

Millersville had a 9-to-2 advantage in terms of shots on goal.

Shippensburg returns to David See Field when it hosts Bloomsburg on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
