SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University middle
Isabelle Bombas was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Defensive Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon by the league office.

Shippensburg claimed road wins in four sets at West Chester and Millersville and is now 7-0 in conference play after completing the first half of the Eastern Division schedule.

Bombas, who is typically a consistent middle hitter (12 kills, .500 in 20 attempts this week), asserted herself as a blocker for the Raiders. She contributed 13 blocks over the two matches, seven (two solo, five assisted) against West Chester, and six (three solo, three assisted) against Millersville.

The performances now have Bombas tied for sixth in the PSAC this season in blocking; she is averaging 0.95 blocks per set and has 75 total. In PSAC East matches she is averaging 0.97 blocks per set.

This marks the first weekly award of the season for Bombas and her second overall, having last won the PSAC Eastern Division Defensive Athlete of the Week on Oct. 2, 2023.

This is the second week in a row that a Raider has been named the PSAC Eastern Division Defensive Athlete of the Week, as
Shay Kolivoski won the award last week. Overall, it is eighth weekly award of the season for the Raiders.
