The Shippensburg University men's soccer team was voted sixth in the 2024 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Preseason Coaches' Poll released Wednesday afternoon by the conference office.
The preseason coaches' poll is selected by the league's coaches and was announced through the league's social media channels. The conference does not allow coaches to vote for their own team in the preseason polls.
Millersville, the defending PSAC Champions, received five of the six first-place votes from Eastern Division coaches and come in at number one on the 2024 preseason poll. West Chester was voted second in the East, receiving one first-place vote. Bloomsburg was voted third.
Shippensburg is coming off a 4-9-3 campaign a season ago. The campaign was highlighted by a 3-1-1 start and a road win over nationally ranked West Chester – the Raiders' first victory over the Golden Rams in over a decade.
Players will report for preseason camp on Sunday, August 18. Shippensburg opens its 2024 campaign at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7 at Chestnut Hill. They open their home schedule at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 against Slippery Rock at David See Field.
