RECAP: Lacrosse drops rainy road match at Wilmington (Del.)

Bailey, Fenwick, Sara Vosburg score goals for the Raiders

The Shippensburg University lacrosse team dropped a non-conference match at Wilmington (Del.) on Saturday, 16-3, on a rainy afternoon in Delaware.
 
Shippensburg (1-2) got second-half goals from first-year Alexa Bailey, senior Emily Fenwick and junior Sara Vosburg. Bailey and sophomore Ali Pioli each had an assist.
 
Junior Kayla Vosburg made nine saves. First-year defender Brynn Hauck had a team-high three caused turnovers and collected two groundballs. Graduate Carly Switala and Pioli each finished with multiple caused turnovers as well.
 
Wilmington (5-1) led 10-0 at the end of the first quarter and 13-0 at halftime and never looked back. The Wildcats got five goals from Mackenzie Stritzinger, four from Ella Royer and three from Amelie Gamache. Alea Javorowsky had a goal and seven assists. Gamache also had game highs of six groundballs and four caused turnovers.
 
Shippensburg returns to action at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Seton Hill.
