SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University volleyball team swept Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern opponent Lock Haven to win on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at Heiges Field House. Set scores were 25-17, 25-18, 25-13.

Shippensburg (16-11, 10-2 PSAC) clinched the number two seed in the PSAC Eastern division with the vicotry. The Raiders will now get the opportunity to host the first round of the PSAC tournament on Tuesday, Nov. 19th. This will mark the third PSAC tournament appearance in a row for SU.

SU finished the match with a .270 hitting percentage, collecting 41 kills. Lock Haven (5-17, 3-9 PSAC) ended the match with 27 kills and hit .144 from the floor. The Raiders out-blocked the visitors 5-2 and delivered nine aces to the Bald Eagles one.

The SU offense was led by senior
Emily Gardner who recorded 14 kills while hitting .310 from the floor. Gardner added two aces and nine digs. Senior
Maddie Clabaugh was a key piece for the Raider offense, delivering nine kills and a .362 hitting percentage.

Junior
Kearstin Davis dished out 31 assists and tallied six digs, an ace, a kill and a block assist. Sophomore
Shay Kolivoski led the defense with 16 digs. Junior
Berkley Simmons delivered a match-high three aces.

A 3-0 run in set one that featured an ace from Gardner and a kill from Clabaugh gave the Raiders the early lead, 5-2. Simmons delivered back-to-back aces to increase the margin to 12-5. Lock Haven came within five after a 3-0 run, but the Raiders answered with a 2-0 run, 23-16. A Lock Haven error gave the Raiders set point, and Clabaugh delivered a kill to end set one in favor of the Raiders, 25-17.

Set two began as a back and forth with the two teams trading points. The Raiders jumped ahead after completing a 4-1 scoring stretch that featured a Simmons' ace and a kill from sophomore
Natalya Montague, 11-9. Clabaugh later notched a kill that sparked a 5-1 scoring stretch to make it, 17-12. A kill from Clabaugh put the Raiders at set point, 24-18. Junior
Isabelle Bombas then put up a block to claim the final point of set two, 25-18.

A 3-0 run that included a Montague kill, a Kolivoski ace and a Bombas kill tied set three at 3-3. Junior
Kayla Johnson recorded two kills in a 4-1 scoring stretch that put SU ahead, 9-6. A kill from Montague sparked a 4-0 run that featured three kills in a row from Gardner, and an 8-2 scoring stretch put the Raiders ahead by 10, 22-12. SU closed the match with a 3-0 run that featured kills from Bombas, Clabuagh and Johnson, 25-13.

Before the match, SU honored it's three seniors: Gardner,
Erica Lampus and
Kat Negron. The team also honored super senior, Clabaugh before the match.

Shippensburg will take on Millersville on the road on Friday at 7 p.m. at Pucillo Gymnasium.
