SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University volleyball team fell to East Stroudsburg in three sets Tuesday night in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) quarterfinal match at Heiges Field House. Set scores were 14-25, 21-25, 15-25.
 
Shippensburg (17-13) ended the match recording 34 kills and hitting .083 from the floor. East Stroudsburg (20-7) finished the match with 40 kills, hitting .277 from the floor. The Warriors out blocked the Raiders, 13-2. The Warriors delivered seven aces to the Raiders' two.
 
Junior 
Kayla Johnson led the SU offense with 10 kills, hitting .114 from the floor. Senior 
Emily Gardner and junior 
Isabelle Bombas each added seven kills apiece. Gardner recorded a match-high 20 digs.
 
Junior 
Kearstin Davis dished out 28 assists and added nine digs. The defense was led by sophomore libero 
Shay Kolivoski, who recorded 12 digs.
 
The Warriors took an early lead off a 5-1 scoring run. The momentum stayed in their favor as they completed a 7-0 run to lead 13-4. Senior 
Kat Negron delivered an ace and sparked a 6-0 run to put the Raiders within two, 13-11. A 10-2 scoring stretch for East Stroudsburg increased the lead to 23-12. The Raiders were unable to close the deficit and the Warriors took set one, 25-14.
 
With set two tied at 6-6, the Raiders got a pair of kills from Gardner to lead 8-6. The Warriors answered with a 2-0 run to tie the set back at 8-8. A pair of kills from Johnson put SU in the lead, 14-13. After a kill from Gardner and an ace from Davis, the Raiders had a two-point lead at 20-18. The Warriors, however, closed set two with a 5-0 run, 25-21.
 
East Stroudsburg started set three with an early lead after a 9-1 scoring stretch, 13-6. The Raiders responded with a late 2-0 run off kills from Gardner and Bombas, 22-15. The Warriors scored the final three points of the match, 25-15.
 
Anna Coulter led East Stroudsburg with 11 kills without an error, hitting .550 from the floor on 20 attempts. Coulter also had four solo blocks and four block assists. Setter Taylor Haan had 32 assists and 16 digs.
 
The Warriors will face Gannon in the PSAC semifinals this Friday in Erie.
