SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's soccer team was bested on Homecoming Saturday, dropping a 2-1 decision to Lock Haven in a non-conference clash at David See Field.
Shippensburg (2-10-0) and Lock Haven (7-4-1) played a rather even match in terms of chances, as shots on goal were within one (6-5 in favor of the Bald Eagles) and corner kicks were within two (7-5 in favor of the Bald Eagles). Both teams earned multiple chances during the run of play.
A pair of goals in a five-minute span of the first half had the match even at 1-1 at the intermission. In the 11th minute, Billy Lawrence finished a cross from Austin Kravetz to give the visitors the early advantage.

Kyle Ganley nearly headed home a goal but was denied by Bald Eagle keeper Ethan Beck. Junior
Olu Sonubi was there to clean up the rebound, evening the match at 1-1.
During a second half in which the physical play ramped up significantly, Lock Haven found the winner in the 68th minute when Carter Rosno found his way to a loose ball and casually sent it into the lower-left portion of the net.
Shippensburg is back in action at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at West Chester.
