The Shippensburg University men's soccer team came up short on the road Wednesday at West Chester, dropping a 2-0 decision to the Golden Rams in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup at Rockwell Field.
Shippensburg (2-11, 1-6 PSAC East) tested the Golden Rams to the tune of five shots on goal (nine overall) but could not solve West Chester goalkeeper Jaden Howard.
West Chester (8-4-2, 5-2) found the back of the net in each half, first a strike from Peter Tichy off an SU turnover in the 25th minute, followed by an Owen Slack goal courtesy of a deflection in the 59th minute. West Chester's Devven Frey was credited with an assist on Slack's goal.
The Golden Rams fired a total of 20 shots, with seven on target. Sophomore goalkeeper
Ryan Krumenacker recorded five saves.
Shippensburg returns to action Saturday at 1 p.m. at Bloomsburg.
