The Shippensburg University volleyball team swept Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division opponent Bloomsburg on Friday night at Nelson Field House to earn its fifth straight conference victory. Set scores were 27-25, 25-13 and 25-20.

Shippensburg (10-9, 5-1 PSAC East) finished the match hitting .196 from the floor and recorded 34 kills. Bloomsburg (6-11, 4-2 PSAC East) finished the match with 33 kills and a .088 hitting percentage. The Raiders delivered 13 services ace to the Huskies eight. SU out-blocked Bloomsburg 8-6.
The SU offense was led by sophomore
Natalya Montague who recorded nine kills, hit .389 from the floor and committed just two attack errors on 18 swings. Junior
Isabelle Bombas was also a key piece to the SU offense, hitting .500 from the floor and collecting seven kills on zero errors.

Kearstin Davis handed out 27 assists, tallied one ace, one kill, and six digs.

Shay Kolivoski set a new career-high with seven service aces. She led the defense with 15 digs.

Emily Gardner put the Raiders ahead in the first set. Senior
Maddie Clabaugh delivered an ace to increase the lead, 8-4. The Huskies came within one at 11-10 before completing a 3-0 run to take the lead, 15-14. Gardner notched back-to-back kills and Montague added a kill to regain the lead, 18-15. Kills from Bombas and Clabaugh increased the Raider lead to four, 22-18. Kolivoski delivered an ace to bring the Raiders to set point. The Huskies completed a 4-0 run to tie the set at 24-24 and create a set point at 25-24. Montague delivered a kill, and two Bloomsburg errors gave the Raiders the set one victory, 27-25.

Hailey Cappleman and Clabaugh gave SU an early 4-1 lead in the second set. A block from Montague and two Husky errors increased the Raider lead to 8-2. A kill from junior
Isabelle Bombas sparked a 10-0 scoring run that included three aces from Kolivoski that blew the set open – SU led 14-2. The Raiders completed a 6-1 scoring stretch with an ace from Clabaugh and kills from Montague and Cappleman to lead 19-4. The Raiders arrived to set point after a kill from junior
Kayla Johnson and a Husky error closed set two for the Raiders, 25-13.

After an 8-1 scoring stretch, Bloomsburg took the lead in set three, 13-4. A pair of kills from Montague and an ace from junior
Berkley Simmons cut the deficit to five, 13-8. With Kolivoski on the service line, the Raiders completed a 6-0 run that included three service aces, evening the set score at 17-17. Bloomsburg recorded a 3-0 run to regain the lead, 20-17. That would be their last point, however, as Davis notched a kill that started a 7-0 run. Clabaugh's service run got the Raiders to match point, and senior
Kat Negron ripped the final kill off the BU block to close the match, 25-20.
