SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's soccer team engaged in a defensive clash with rival Millersville on Wednesday but came up on the short end of a 1-0 decision, as the Marauders claimed victory in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division match at David See Field.

Shippensburg (2-9-0, 1-5-0 PSAC East) and Millersville (7-5-0, 4-3-0) combined for just six shots on goal – five for the Marauders and one for the Raiders. MU did not allow a Raider shot in the second half. No cards were assessed in the contest.

The only tally was an own goal, as a Millersville cross went off an SU defender's leg and into the goal in the 23rd minute of play.

SU's best scoring chance came in the first 90 seconds of play, as a ball was delivered to sophomore
Luca Heusser, whose shot was thwarted by oncoming MU goalkeeper Jake Van Vorhees.

Sophomore
Ryan Krumenacker made five saves for Shippensburg.

Shippensburg completes a three-game homestand at 4 p.m. Saturday when it hosts Lock Haven for a non-conference match at David See Field.
