SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's basketball dropped a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup with West Chester, 82-55, on Wednesday night at Heiges Field House.

Bella Chimienti each had 13 points for Shippensburg (3-15, 2-10 PSAC East). This was George's twelfth consecutive game in double figures for the Raiders.
Juniors
Abbie Miller and
Taja Colbert finished in double figures with 10 points each. Both Miller and Colbert finished 4-of-5 from the field and hit one three-pointer. Miller tacked on seven rebounds and Colbert finished with three assists. This was Colbert's ninth game in double figures on the season.
West Chester (12-5, 7-4) shot 55 percent from the field as a team and were 10-of-13 from the free-throw line. WCU scored 18 points off turnovers and had 19 second-chance points. The Golden Rams out-rebounded the Raiders 42-20.
The Golden Rams used a big first quarter to build an early double-digit lead. Scoring runs of 7-0 and 6-0 gave the Golden Rams a 13-4 advantage through the first six minutes. WCU extended its lead to 12 before a 5-0 run by the Raiders, but the Golden Rams made a three as time ran out to bring its lead to 21-11 heading to the second frame.
The Raiders started the second quarter strong, cutting the deficit to six points through the first four minutes, but back-to-back threes from the Golden Rams restored their double-digit lead. West Chester controlled the remainder of the half, extending its lead to 44-31 heading into the break.
The Golden Rams opened the third quarter with a 9-0 run to extend the lead to 53-31. WCU continued to control the game, earning a 30-point advantage just four minutes into the fourth quarter.
West Chester's Emily McAteer led all scorers with 23 points on 9-of-11 shooting. Michelle Kozicki finished with 19 points and Leah Johnson had 16. Johnson had eight assists and both McAteer and Kozicki had seven rebounds.
SU hosts Lock Haven at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Heiges Field House.
