SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's basketball team went toe-to-toe with Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division frontrunner Lock Haven on Saturday afternoon but came up short, dropping a 59-48 decision to Bald Eagles at Heiges Field House.
Shippensburg (3-16, 2-11 PSAC) and Lock Haven (17-1, 12-0) were tied 30-30 at halftime after a great first half by the Raiders. The Raiders got a big boost from 15 points from graduate

Bella Chimienti, but Lock Haven exploded in the third quarter, outscoring Shippensburg 22-4 to take a comfortable lead into the fourth.
George led the Raiders with 17 points. Chimienti scored 15 points on 6-of-13 shooting with three rebounds and two assists. Sophomore

A slow first five minutes saw Shippensburg open the game without a score as Lock Haven took a 4-0 advantage. LHU opened up a 9-3 lead before George scored the next five points to bring it within one possession.
The Bald Eagles extended their lead to seven early in the second frame, but the Raiders responded with a 9-1 run to take their first lead at 26-25. LHU quickly took its lead back with a basket and a three, but a three by George and a free throw by Miller sent the game into halftime deadlocked.
Lock Haven came out of the locker room hot. A 13-0 run kicked off the half as SU hit another five-minute scoring drought. The Raiders made scores on consecutive possessions, but ended the quarter with a four-minute drought while the Bald Eagles took a 52-34 lead.
The Raiders found some momentum in the fourth quarter, but Lock Haven comfortably closed out the game with a double-digit lead to remain undefeated in conference play.
Jenadia Jordan led all scorers with 20 points for the Bald Eagles. Jordan added four rebounds, three assists and three steals. Alana Robinson finished with 12 points and nine rebounds.
SU travels to Shepherd for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off on Monday at the Butcher Athletic Center.
