SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's basketball team trailed by 11 points late in the third quarter Wednesday before an exciting fourth-quarter rally resulted in a 75-70 comeback victory over Mansfield in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup at Heiges Field House.
Shippensburg (3-13, 2-8 PSAC) set a season high of 75 points, shooting 42.4 percent from the field and 40 percent from three-point range. The Raiders finished 21-of-26 (80.8 percent) from the free-throw line. Mansfield (7-8, 4-6) shot 44.3 percent from the field as a team.

Treasure George and a career day from freshman
Mia Johnson who had 19 points; 18 of which came in the second half.
Johnson's 19 points came on 6-of-11 shooting and 3-of-5 from three-point range. Johnson also set career highs with four rebounds and two steals. George reached the 20-point mark for the fifth time this season and was a career-high 11-of-12 at the free-throw line. She also had five rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Junior
Taja Colbert reached double figures with 12 points. Colbert was 5-of-9 shooting from the field with four rebounds and a career-high six assists.
The Raiders went down 18-9 after a strong first quarter by the Mounties. Mansfield stretched its lead to 12 points late in the second quarter, but a three by George and three points from graduate
Madi White gave the Raiders a 6-0 run to end the half to cut the deficit to 37-31.
Mansfield spent most of third quarter extending its lead back to 11 with 4:41 remaining. The Raiders got hot again late in the quarter to cut the Mounties' lead to four points with under a minute to go, but an and-one conversion by Danae Ellzy put the Mounties up by seven heading into the final frame.
The Raiders and Mounties exchanged leads seven times in the fourth quarter. Down 59-52, a quick 7-2 SU run made it a one-possession game. A corner three by Johnson a few possessions later gave the Raiders their first lead of the game at 62-61 with 5:47 remaining. The teams traded the next five baskets in the game for a 67-66 Mansfield lead.
Two free throws by freshman
Bella Chimienti tied the game at 70-70, and a big defensive stand gave the Raiders a chance at the lead. It was Chimienti again with the big basket with 26 seconds remaining, finding space for the shot with a sweet move in the paint. The Raiders made two more defensive stands, and free throws by George and Colbert iced the game.
Sophomore
Makayla Foddrell earned a start and contributed four points, five rebounds and two steals but was limited to 15 minutes because of fouls. Chimienti also was limited to 16 minutes because of foul trouble.
Mansfield had five players finish in double figures, including 13 points each by Jasmine Hilton and Alivia Paeglow. The Mounties began the game 7-of-10 (70 percent) from three-point range but only made one of their final 14 attempts, finishing the game 8-of-24 (33 percent) beyond the arc.
Shippensburg will face East Stroudsburg at 1 p.m. Saturday at Koehler Fieldhouse.
