The Shippensburg University women's soccer team dropped a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup at Shepherd University on Wednesday afternoon, falling 3-1 to the Rams at SU Soccer Complex.
Shippensburg (1-5-0, 1-3-0 PSAC East) managed just two shots on goal while Shepherd (3-1-2, 1-1-2 PSAC East) managed 16 shots on goal. Junior
Morgan Molyneaux tallied 13 saves in the match, a season high and two off her career best of 15 saves against Kutztown in 2021.
The Rams scored the first three goals of the match, with all three coming in the first half. Lydia Gable scored the first two for Shepherd, being assisted by Sara Hohn and Adrianna Morales. A Josie Beezel goal extended the Rams lead to 3-0.
Shippensburg got one back in the second half, as senior
Abbi Czarnecki scored her first of the season.
SU returns home on Saturday to face Mansfield University. Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m. at David See Field.
