The Shippensburg University women's tennis team fell to Lock Haven in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division match at LHU Tennis Courts.
Shippensburg (1-7, 0-3 PSAC East) junior
Brighid Cantwell won in her No. 4 singles matchup, 6-0, 6-4. Cantwell and doubles partner, sophomore
Kendall Winters won their doubles match in a tight battle, 7-5 in No. 2 doubles. SU's No. 1 and No. 3 doubles team both fell 6-3.
In singles, freshman
Corinne Markovich got five games, while sophomore
Brooklynn Rupert got three games. Winters battled in No. 3 singles and went to a 10-point tiebreak in the third but fell 10-7. Winters won the second set 7-6, but was unable to keep the momentum going.
Freshman
Avery Wissinger and freshman
Katelyn Hanft both battled in their singles matchup. Wissinger won seven games, while Hanft won four games.
Shippensburg will host East Stroudsburg on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
