The Shippensburg University lacrosse team came up on the short end of a road match at No. 12 Wingate on Thursday, falling 17-6 to the Bulldogs in action at Irwin Belk Stadium.

SU hung with Wingate (5-2) in the middle quarters, as the Raiders allowed only two goals in the second quarter and one goal in the third quarter. The Bulldogs bookended the match with nine goals in the first quarter and five in the fourth quarter to take control.

Shippensburg opens its Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division schedule at 4 p.m. Tuesday when it hosts Kutztown at Robb Sports Complex.
