SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University lacrosse team rallied from three separate second-half deficits to come from behind and defeat visiting Frostburg State, 9-8, on a frigid and windy day at Robb Sports Complex.

Shippensburg (1-1) trailed 4-1 in the second quarter before equaling the score 4-4 at halftime, and then recovered from deficits of 6-4, 7-6 and 8-7 in the second half to ultimately prevail.

Sophomore
Sara Vosburg, who paced the Raiders offensively with three goals and an assist, scored twice in a 2:22 span of the third quarter to even the score at 6-6.

Senior
Abby Seasock contributed two goals and an assist – all in the fourth quarter – to key the Raider victory. Her goal with 11:51 to go evened the score at 7-7, and she assisted on the second collegiate goal by junior
Emily Fenwick that re-tied the score at 8-8.

Seasock then caged the game-winner with 3:23 to play, and the Raiders were able to possess the ball for the majority down the stretch to keep the Bobcats off the scoreboard. Â

Shippensburg converted all four "man-up" opportunities into goals and finished with a 13-8 in the circle on draw controls.

Kayla Hillaert had two of Shippensburg's five draw controls and also had two groundballs.
Kayla Vosburg finished with six saves.

Hannah Seifried and freshman
Ali Pioli equaled the team lead with four draw controls; Seifried added a goal, an assist and a caused turnover while Pioli scored twice.

Seifried won the opening draw of the game, which marked the 200th draw control of her career.

Frostburg State (1-1) received a sensational performance from goalkeeper Nicole Gray, who made 22 saves in the contest. Gray made at least five saves in all four quarters, and had 12 saves in the second half. Camden DeMaio had a hat trick and an assist.

Shippensburg will head south this week for a pair of "Spring Break" games, beginning noon Tuesday at Limestone.
